Ep. 92: 'Call Me By Your Name' & 'Phantom Thread'

Welcome to the show! This is the Late Night Double Feature Picture Show, where we strive to be the music in your universe.

This week, Joel is regretting online purchases and Jon is romanticizing subtext. Wait, but there are films too! Shit-ass awesome films. It's award season folks. Who wins: Luca Guadagnino, or PTA? Timmy/Hammer, or Danny/Manny? Lazy summers, or cursèd clothes?

Peaches... or mushrooms...

Ep. 91: 'The Post' & 'I, Tonya'

Welcome back, folks! You've all turned in tuned in to the LNDFPS, police lights and cardigans included. What's a matta you?

Code-makin', job-applyin', and pants-sizin' aside. It's time to get this show on the road. This is a very serious show, based on a serious question: Who... Will... Will? A little local newspaper from D.C., or some classless ice skater? Self-important Spielberg, or white-trash Gillespie? Meryl Streep,... or Margot Robbie? Only time will tell. (Or you could skip to the end of the episode, but what's the point in that? Cherish the journey, folks.)

Ep. 89: 'Downsizing' & 'All the Money in the World'

Welcome folks! This is the Late Night Double Feature Picture Show that you have turned into tuned in to. It's our party, but it's cool that you're here.

What is life, folks? Living with death, or mumbly microphones? Helping humans, or acquiring wealth? Joining a Viking-Hippie Eden-cult, or resolving oil feuds on behalf of Getty Oil?

In other news, Joel's #1 tool has failed him.

Here's to you, you lawn people.

Ep. 88: 'Gremlins 2: The New Batch' & 'The Shape of Water'

Howdy folks!

According to one man (Joel, in the previous episode), for a proper metaphor to work, it has to work on both the literal and metaphorical interpretation. Perhaps the same can be said for film pairings, but this week's perfect couple have been chosen Jon, so good luck with that.

Ep. 86: 'The Room' & 'The Disaster Artist'

Come on. We had to do this.

Sometimes a truly great film comes along. A film that takes you by surprise, that shares a unique vision with you, that opens you to triumph and sorrow, the heights of Hollywood and the bitter grind that precedes it.

And when you watch it with friends, you feel true joy, reckless joy. You find a beauty that should not exist there, amid the soot of dreams long-dead.

And then you realize that film was based on 'The Room'.

Ep. 83: 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer' & 'Murder on the Orient Express [2017]'

Welcome folks! It's episode 84 83 of LNDFPS! Me oh my, the turning of the decades, and the time frames. It's our favorite show, and we hope it's yours too.

It may be end of days for the J's, what with episode 100 naught four months out, but the boys have more important things to think about today. Like death. Science and witchcraft. Conscience and the unconscionable.  Yorgos Lanthimos, and Kenneth Branagh.

Surgeons never kill patients, and everyone is a suspect.
